• Half Marathon: 2 hours and 50 minutes (9:50 a.m. - 12:40 p.m.)
• Wheelchair: 1 hour and 15 minutes (7:45 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.)

Eligibility

18 years old or older on the race day and who fulfills the following conditions and whose participation is approved by the organizer.

• General Entry: Eligible to finish the race under 2 hours and 30 minutes.
• People with Disability: Eligible to finish the race under 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  * One guide runner per person is permitted based on the conditions set forth by the organizer (no guide animals allowed).
• People with Disability (wheelchair): Athletes who can finish half marathon under 1 hour and 15 minutes in a racing wheelchair.
• Semi-Elite Athletes
  
  • Japan
    • Athletes, registered with the JAAF in fiscal 2023.
    • Athletes who meet the following participation criteria with official records from May 1, 2021 to April 30, 2023.
      Men's Half Marathon: Under 1hr 20min 00sec
      Women's Half Marathon: Under 1hr 40min 00sec
  • Overseas
    • Athletes who meet the following participation criteria in the World Athletics Label Road Race with official records from May 1, 2021 to April 30, 2023.
      Men's Half Marathon: Under 1hr 20min 00sec
      Women's Half Marathon: Under 1hr 40min 00sec
  * One guide runner per person is permitted based on the conditions set forth by the organizer (no guide animals allowed).
• Elite Athletes
  
  • Athletes, registered with the JAAF in fiscal 2023 who satisfy the requirements set forth by the JAAF.
  • Invited Athletes (national and international runners nominated by the organizer and/or the JAAF).
• Elite Para Athletes
  
  • Athletes registered with the Japan Para Athletics (JPA) and/or Japanese Para Sports Association (JPSA) who hold a valid classification and meet the requirements set forth separately.
  • Invited Athletes (national and international para athletes nominated by the organizer and/or JPA/JPSA).

Competition Rules

• The races will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the World Athletics, JAAF and the Race Organizer.
  Doping control will be conducted abiding to World Athletics Anti-Doping Regulations.
• World Para Athletics Rules and Regulations and the competition rules of the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon applies to the all elite para athletes.
  Doping control is conducted abiding to World Para Athletics Anti-Doping Regulations.

Entry Period

Registration will open on May 9, 2023 (Tue)
* The registration period may differ depending on the eligibility group.
* Selection will be made by random drawing if the entry exceeds the field size.
* Donation and Charity Runner applications open from April 28, 2023 (Fri).

Award

• Elite Athletes: the top three male and female
• Elite Para Athletes: the top three male and female (Award for each classification will be separately announced.)
• Semi-Elite Athletes: Semi-elite top three male and female
• Next Generation Athlete Award: The top male and female registered athletes of The Inter-University Athletic Union of Japan

Packet Pick-up

Event Cancelation Guideline

• Event Cancellation Guideline
  • The event is subject to cancellation if a cancellation request is received from respective authorities and agencies.
  • The event is subject to cancel due to natural disaster or in a situation in which delivering a safe event is difficult.

Others

• Refunds of event fees will be specified in the Entry Regulation.
• This event shall adhere to all national laws and regulations.
• The starting point for the half marathon of this event will be in front of the Japan National Stadium/Gaien-nishi Ave.
• The wheelchair half marathon course for this event will be changed to the course starting inside the Japan National Stadium and finishing in Jinbocho.
• This event will be held on the same day as the Marathon Grand Championship (MGC).
