    * This course is certified by the JAAF and World Athletics.
  • Competition Rules
    • The races will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the World Athletics, JAAF and the Race Organizer.
      As this race is an elite label recognized by the WA, the WA Road Race Label Regulations and the WA Advertising Regulations will be applied.
      Doping control will also be conducted in accordance with the World Athletics Anti-Doping Regulations.
    • To the all elite para athlete,the World Para Athletics Rules and Regulations and the competition rules of the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon will be applied.
      Doping control will also be conducted in accordance with the World Para Athletics Anti-Doping Regulations.

    Start Time
    • Half Marathon: 3 hours (8:05 a.m. - 11:05 a.m.)
      * The time will be based on the starting gun for the first wave.
    • Wheelchair: 1 hour and 40 minutes (8:00 a.m. - 9:40 a.m.)
    • The start times are as follows:
      Wheelchair 8:00 a.m.
      Half Marathon
       First Wave Start 8:05 a.m.
       Second Wave Start 8:08 a.m. (tentative)

    • Due to traffic, security, and operational concerns, there are some cut-off points on the course.
      Outside of cut-off points, those who lag excessively behind may be asked to drop out the event.

    18 years old or older on the race day and who fulfills the following conditions and whose participation is approved by the organizer.
    *This includes those who have been granted the right to run in events conducted by the organizer.
    • General Entry(Men, Women and Non-binary): Those who are capable of finishing the race within 2 hours and 40 minutes.
    • People with Disability (Men, Women and Non-binary): Those who are capable of finishing the race within 2 hours and 40 minutes.
      * People with disabilities who are unable to run independently are allowed to run with one guide runner. (Guide animals are not permitted.)
    • People with Disability (wheelchair/Men, Women and Non-binary): People who are capable of finishing the race within 1 hour and 40 minutes in a racing wheelchair.
    • Student Team Entry
      * 7 to 10 students can enter as a team.
      * Students must show their student ID at Packet Pick-up.
      * People with disabilities who are unable to run independently are allowed to run with one guide runner. (Guide animals are not permitted.)

      • Japan
        • Athletes(Men and Women), registered with the JAAF in fiscal 2026.
        • Athletes(Men and Women) who meet the following time criteria in the JAAF certificated race or World Athletics Label Road Race with official records from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2026.

            Women's Half Marathon: Under 1hour 40minutes 00second
      • Overseas
        • Athletes(Men and Women) who meet the following time criteria in the World Athletics Label Road Race with official records from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2026.

      * People with disabilities who are unable to run independently are allowed to run with one guide runner. (Guide animals are not permitted.)

      • Athletes(Men and Women) who registered with the JAAF in fiscal 2026 who meet the requirements set forth by the JAAF.
      • Invited Athletes ( Men and Women / national and international runners nominated by the organizer and/or the JAAF.)

      • Athletes (men and women) who are registered with the Japan Para Athletics (JPA) affiliated with the Japan Para Sports Association (JPSA) in fiscal year 2026, hold a valid classification as of the race day, and meet the requirment set forth separately.

    * Japan Premier Half Series "Priority Entry for the 2026 Full Series" is 19,200 JPY (Entry fee of 13,200 JPY and a priority entry fee of 6,000 JPY).(Handling fee and tax included)
    * Japan Premier Half Series "Priority Entry for the 2026 Individual Races" is 15,200 JPY (Entry fee of 13,200 JPY and a priority entry fee of 2,000 JPY).(Handling fee and tax included)
    * Through the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon’s “+ONE Action”, we will accept donations of 500 JPY each to "Donation for the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake", "Certified Nonprofit Corporation Nationwide Children’s Cafeteria Support Center Musubie", and "Ashinaga Foundation".

      • Japan Premier Half Series "Priority Entry for the 2026 Full Series"
        • People who have registered for the “Series Entry” of the Japan Premier Half Series and also entered either the “Championship” or “Age Point Ranking.”
        • Capacity: 600 (100 for “Championship” and , 500 for “Age Point Ranking.”)
      • Japan Premier Half Series "Priority Entry for the 2026 Individual Races"
        • People who have registered for the Japan Premier Half Series “Series Entry”,and entries are limited to the first 3,000 applicants on a first-come, first-served basis.
      • Semi-Elite Athlete
        • Screening will be conducted by the following conditions and if the entry exceeds the field size(200), selection will be made from the top of the official record.
        • Runners who are not selected will be eligible for the other Entry by random drawing. (The entry category will be "General Entry".)
          Domestic: After completing your entry, please enter your information in the JAAF Entry System as well to confirm your eligibility (official records).
          Overseas: After completing your entry, please submit data of your record certificates that meet the eligibility requirements.
          * Information about procedures for confirming records is scheduled to be provided on June 4.
      • ONE TOKYO Premium Member Entry
        • Once the entry exceeds the field size(1,200), the entry will be chosen by random drawing.
        • If the ONE TOKYO membership code and other information is not entered, incompletely entered, or mismatched with the membership information, the entry will not be eligible (not selected).
        • This includes the ONE TOKYO Premium members who were not selected as the Semi-elite(domestic).
      • General Entry
        • Once the entry exceeds the field size, the entry will be chosen by random drawing by following flows.
        • This includes runners who were not selected as Semi-elite or ONE TOKYO Premium members.
          • Early Bird for Women : This is for women and the field size is 5,000.
          • Tokyo resident draw: This is for runners who entered through the domestic site and residents of Tokyo (at the time of entry)

        • Each team has 7 to 10 members, with a maximum of 200 participants to be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
        • All members must be students and must show their student ID at the Packet Pick-up
        • The representative of the team must entry for all members at once.

        • Separate notifications will be issued in accordance with each application guidelines
          * If the entry exceeds the field size, runners will be switched to Semi-Elite Athletes
    • Payment
      • Selected runners and entry ticket holders must complete the event fee payment by the deadline.
        The entry will be void if payment is not received by the deadline. 
      • Domestic:The event fee can be paid by credit card, PayPal, AmazonPay, RUNPO payment, payment at convenience store , and ATMs that accept Pay-easy.
        You can check the receipt for the event fee in RUNNET My Page or the “statement” or “invoice” issued by your credit card company.

      • If you'd like to have a guide runner, you need to apply for a guide runner separately.
      • If we have not reached to the fieldsize, an additional selection may be conducted for runners who meet the following condition.
        • ONE TOKYO membership number must be entered at the time of entry.(*except for an incompletely entry or mismatch with the membership information
        • Must be a ONE TOKYO Premium member as of July 1, 2026.

    Submission
    Participants who declare an estimated finish time of 1:50:00 or faster at the time of entry are required to upload, by June 19, a finisher certificate or official record verifying that they have achieved one of the following results at an event held between June 1, 2024 and May 31, 2026:
     ・Half Marathon: within 1:50:00
     ・10 km: within 50:00
    *For full marathons, a finisher certificate or official record that includes a split time at the 10 km point or halfway point will also be accepted.
    *If your result is from the “Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon 2024” or “Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon 2025,” upload is not required.
    *A screenshot or image of race result records is also acceptable.
    *If any falsification or fraudulent information is identified in the submitted documents, the entry will be deemed invalid and the participant may be assigned to start from Wave 3.

    • Elite Athletes, Elite Para Athletes, Semi-Elite Athletes and Wheelchair records are based on gun time (gross time).
    • All others except for above, both gross and net time records of each wave will be used .
    *You may be disqualified if there are missing time records.

    • The event is subject to cancellation if a cancellation request is received from respective authorities and agencies.
    • The event is subject to cancel due to natural disaster or in a situation in which delivering a safe event is difficult.

Event Regulations

The regulations are estab;lished for the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon's entrants and participants must comply.

  • This event will be carried out while abiding to all domestic laws and regulations.
  • The Race Regulations, and Entry Regulations, in addition to the Event Regulations, will apply.
  • Except in the event of intentional or gross negligence, the organizer shall not be held in any way responsible for any of the following.
    • Illness, an epidemic and/or accidents (except emergency treatment).
    • Loss and/or damage of personal property.
    • Late arrival to the race due to trouble with public transportation and/or poor road conditions.
  • In order to execute safe event, the event organizer will enforce traffic control in the vicinity of the event.
  • Runners are required to follow the instructions of the event organizer. Otherwise, will be disqualified from the participation in the event.
  • To prevent accidents, the following are prohibited because of the danger of contact with runners and falls.
    • To stop suddenly or change their path at the start of the race.
    • To change your path or suddenly stop on the course to take photos or respond to roadside cheering.
    • To block the sounds around you by using earphones or headphones.
  • The course is certified by JAAF and World Athletics.
    We will not accept any claims against the course measurement or the distance based on personal devices, such as, GPS tracking device.
    Also, you may be disqualified for missing timing mat record and/or if short-cut is discovered.
  • The times will be recorded using Timing Tag attached to the back of the bib. Note, depending on external condition and influence, the timing may be affected. Note that there may be missing records due to environmental influence, and they are by no means 100% guaranteed that they will record all times.
  • Due to traffic, security, and race management, there will be a closing time at each checkpoint. Runners who fail to pass the checkpoint by the designated time will be asked to stop the race. In addition, runners who are extremely late at any point other than checkpoints will be asked to stop the race at the discretion of race officials.
    * Please refer to the Runner Guidebook for cutoff time and points.
  • The organizers reserve the rights to publish and control the use of images, photographs, articles, records, location information, and personal information such as runners’ names, ages, and addresses (country, prefecture, or municipality) that include the runners’ appearance during the event in media including television, newspapers, magazines, and the Internet.
    The organizers may provide such information to the co-organizers, managing organizations, operational supporters, beneficiary organizations of the organizers’ charity programs, supporting organizations, sponsors, and the Japan Premier Half Series Secretariat, as well as to various media for purposes such as record ranking compilation, and runners shall be deemed to have consented to such use.
  • The event organizer, in recognition of the importance of protecting personal data, abides to all laws and ordinances concerning the protection of personal data, and adheres to the event organizer's privacy policy when handling personal data.
  • Medical first aid services provided at the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon will be as follows.
    • Medical stations will only be available during their respective opening hours.
      * Medical station in the MUFG STADIUM(Japan National Stadium) will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (provisional)
      * Medical stations on the course will be open from the time the first runner passes until approximately 15 minutes after the last runner passes.
      * Opening hours are provisional and subject to change. The closing time may also change depending on usage.
    • The scope of medical management at the medical station in the MUFG STADIUM(Japan National Stadium) is limited to runners inside the National Stadium and along the runner traffic lines designated by the organizer.
      * General restricted areas and runner traffic lines will be published in the Runner guidebook.
    • The organizer will take appropriate measures to deal with injuries and illnesses during the event to the extent possible on site.
    • If necessary, the patient will be transported to a hospital by ambulance or rescue vehicle. (Medical fees at the hospital will be borne by the patient.)
      Please note that if the patient refuses to be transported to a hospital, we may ask for the patient's consent in writing as a record of the patient's "refusal to be transported based on the patient's own will".
    • Compensation may be paid for injuries or illnesses that occur while participating in the event.
      * A medical certificate (original) from a doctor will be required. Please note that this is not an insurance to cover medical expenses (treatment expenses).
    • If the patient is transported to a hospital, we will be requesting the hospital to provide information on medical records.
    • During first aid responses, lifesaving activities will be given the highest priority and may be handled by the opposite sex. (Such as use of AED, chest compressions, and treatment at first aid stations.)

Race Regulations

The event organizer will not permit the participation in the event who is in violation of the event regulations, laws/regulations, or public order and morals, as well as the prohibitions specified in the following examples 1 through 12.
If any of these are applicable to the participant, the event organizer will not allow the participant to join the race or prevent the participant from continuing the race, even after the start of the event. Any objection against its judgement will not be accepted.

  • Dressed in clothing or wearing a gear that may be dangerous, hurtful or cause other runners to fall; and/or running with the whole part of the face covered.
  • Dressed inappropriately for a sports event or in clothing that is unpleasant to other participants or spectators.
  • Clothing for the purpose of political or religious assertions or propaganda, as well as advertising.
  • Clothing for the purpose of promoting or advertising an individual name, a specific region or an organization that the event organizer does not acknowledge.
  • Use of articles that could cause other participants to mistakenly recognize as a starting signal and cause confusion to the race management, or use of a devices with strong sound volume that may disturb others.
  • Acts that causes a delay to the start of the event, such as, dancing, performance, playing instruments, standing near the start or finish lines, or in the streets along the course.
  • Soliciting monetary contributions, signatures, etc.
  • Preventing pedestrians from crossing the course or obstructing the passage of emergency vehicles at certain points, when and where they are allowed to do so.
  • Obstructing the race by failing to follow the instructions by the race officials and referees.
  • Bringing a guide runner not approved by the event organizer. Also, guide/support animal is not allowed.
  • Changing clothes in undesignated locations and/or urinating or defecating at places other than toilet facilities.
  • Occurrence of affair other than those listed in numbers 1 through 11 that the event organizer determine inappropriate for the event.

Entry Regulations

Failure to follow the regulations outlined below may result in denial of entry, revocation of entry, and disqualification from the event, with no refund of the event fee(s). In addition, future participation in the event will be prohibited.
Please also note that if you are unable to make payment due to internatilnal situation, you are not be able to join the event even if you are the entry ticket holders.

  • To participate in the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon, you must register with Run Japan(for free) firstly.
  • Please refer to your My Page of Run Japan for entry status, selection results, event fee payment, Runner Handbook, isuue of record certificate and more.
  • Multiple entries from same person are not allowed. If discovered, the entry will be revoked, and payments will not be returned, even if the discovery is discovered after the payment has been completed.
  • Through the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon’s “+ONE Action”, participants who wish to support one of the following organizations—“Donation for the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake”,“Certified Nonprofit Corporation Nationwide Children’s Cafeteria Support Center Musubie ” or “Ashinaga Foundation ”—may add an additional donation of 500 JPY to their entry fee.
    All donations received will be delivered appropriately to the selected organizations.
    For the "Donation for the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake”, the full amount will be contributed to the Donation Distribution Committee via the Japanese Red Cross Society.
    * The purpose is to support relief efforts through sport, so it does not affect the selection results.
  • If a false name, date of birth, sex, qualification time etc are discovered, you wii be disqualified and rejected to participate in the event. Please make sure to review all registered information is correct through My Page before completing your entry. If you'd like to participate in the event as a JAAF registered runner, please make sure to complete your JAAF registration prior to entry and be sure to enter the correct information.
    * Those who entered as a JAAF registered runner will be verified as a registered member of the JAAF for the 2026 fiscal year after payment.
    As you will not be notified of the result of verification, please make sure that you are registered with JAAF before entering the event.
    If you are not registered or if we cannot confirm your registration due to incomplete information, we will transfer your registration from “JAAF registered runner” to“General Entry”.
    * If your registered name differs from the name used at the time of entry (e.g., former name or commonly used name), please contact the Entry Desk after completing your payment.
  • To apply for ONE TOKYO Premium Member Entry, you must be a ONE TOKYO Premium Member and enter your ONE TOKYO Membership Number. (Japan only)
    * If the membership code and other information is not entered, incompletely entered, or mismatched with the membership information, the entry will not be eligible (not selected).
    * Entry and participation in the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon will not be reflected in your ONE TOKYO member information.
    * An additional selection will be for only ONE TOKYO Premium Member, not ONE TOKYO GLOBAL member.
  • Runers who participate as students must show their student ID (Copies are not accepted) in addition to valid photo ID at the Packet Pick-up.
    If you cannot show student ID, you're not eligible for participating but the event fee will be refunded
    * Donation and handling fee etc. are not refunded.
  • Participants who declare an estimated finish time of 1:50:00 or faster at the time of entry are required to upload a finisher certificate or official record verifying that they have achieved one of the following results at an event held between June 1, 2024 and May 31, 2026:

  • Changes to the assigned entrance gate, start corral, or start wave for personal reasons are not permitted.
    Start corrals and waves will be assigned based on the estimated finish time declared at the time of entry.
    Please note that even participants with the same declared time may be placed in different corrals or waves.
    *For the “Student Team” category, start corrals will also be assigned individually based on each participant’s declared time; therefore, team members are not guaranteed to be placed in the same corral.
  • The organizer will not be held responsible for any late entry due to error caused by certain PCs, browsers, operating systems and/or poor Internet connectivity.
  • Email delivery check for the registered email address will not be conducted. Note, the organizer will not be responsible for any inconvenience or loss due to trouble with the device (malfunction), system/email setting, failure to receive email and/or change in email address.
    * Please make sure to update your email address through the My Page in case of address change. Depending on the situation, the My Page may not be accessible. In that case, please directly contact the entry desk.
  • Entry desk will not accept any contact regarding entry status and/or entry result. Please refer to the "My Page" of Run Japan for your entry result status.
  • If payment is not received by the deadline, the entry will automatically be cancelled, and participation in the event will not be allowed. Also, entry right and bib may not be sold, auctioned or placed in the market, nor may they be used for campaign selling. If discovered, the entry will be revoked with no refund of the event fee (including donation).
  • Entry through a travel agencies not approved by the event organizer are not allowed. If discovered, the entry will be voided and the entry fee (including donation) is not be refunded.
  • .Participation other than the entrant (proky to run, transfer of rights) are not allowed. Please be sure to bring valid photo ID to packet pick-up (held over 2 days prior to race day) to complete in-person verification.
  • All participants in the disability division must present a valid photo ID as well as a physical disability certificate or other proof of disability.
    * Certificate issued by oficial organizations is also acceptable.
  • If the event is canceled, the entry fee will be refunded as follows. There will be no alternative options available, such as entry deferral or special treatment in a future event.
    * Donation (including 「+ONE Action」500 JPY) is not refunded.
    • If the event is canceled by September 18, 2026 for the reasons listed below, 20% of the subject amount will be refunded.
      • Cancelled due to earthquake, snow storm, typhoon, and other natural disasters.
    • If the event is canceled following September 19, 2026 for the reasons listed below, 100% of the subject amount will be refunded.
      • Cancellation due to snowstorm, flood due to heavy rain, building destruction due to strong wind, lightning strike, tornado, and/or fire along or near the course, causing course blockage.
      • In the event of a cancellation due to a warning issued by a government agency to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government or one of its municipalities after Saturday, October 17, 2026, as a result of a typhoon making it unsafe for runners to participate.
      • When police or other government agencies order the cancellation of the course for reasons other than those listed in 15-2-1 & 15-2-2 above, and/or when the course is deemed unsafe due to physical obstacles.
      • Cancellation due to earthquake magnitude intensity 5 lower or more in Tokyo.
  • Those who wish to withdraw from the race due to the runner’s own pregnancy or childbirth may transfer their entry to a future event only if they agree to the applicable conditions and notes regarding the transfer of entry rights.
    In addition to the transfer procedures, we will provide further details on conditions and important notes beyond those listed below. Please contact the Entry Center by Thursday, October 15, 2026.
    Please note that this policy applies only to the runner who is pregnant or has given birth, and does not apply to a spouse, partner, or any third party.

    [Conditions for Transfer (Excerpt)]
    • Submission of proof confirming pregnancy or childbirth (e.g., a photo of the Maternal and Child Health Handbook with the runner’s name clearly shown).
    • The entry fee for Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon 2026 is non-refundable. In addition, a new entry fee must be paid for the event to which the entry is transferred.
    • Entry transfer is limited to one time only, regardless of the reason. Changes to the selected future event after the transfer has been completed are not permitted.
    • The entry may be transferred to one of the following events: Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon 2027, 2028, or 2029.
    Please note that transfers due to illness or injury are not permitted.
  • Excess payment, double payment, violation of the rules, and withdrawal of the entry at the participants' discretion do not qualify for a refund. There is no entry deferral or special treatment for a future event.(Except for pregnancy or childbirth)
    * Overpayments or duplicate payments of the registration fee will be refunded(Except for handling fee.)
